Library Technology
Students have wireless internet access within the BHS Library-Media Center for their personal devices. Students must abide by the MCBEO Acceptable Use Policy. Accessing the Student-BYOD network is a privilege and can be revoked by administration. Buckhorn High School and the MCBOE assumes no responsibility for data overage charges, theft, loss, or damage to any personal/wireless communication device.
Our library-media center has 10 Lenovo PCs running Windows 8 for student use. The library is also equipped with a Chromebook cart of 30 for class use. During the 2014-15 school year, Mrs. Craig introduced 5 new MakerSpace Kits including Sphero robots, MakeyMakey and StopMotion Animation.
Students have access to:
· All desktop computers are able to print. Students are charged $0.10 a page for B&W printing.
· Color printing is available for $0.50.
· A copier is also available to students doing research. Students are charged $0.10 for each copy made.
Students with coursework always have priority over all other computer uses.

- Alabama Virtual Library
- Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Publisher)
- Canvas (Madison County School's Learning Management System)

Mobile Device Charging Station
The BHS Library-Media Center has two mobile device charging stations for student use. Students are allowed to charge their devices while in the library. Students are responsible for their devices.

- Check out books if you have overdue materials or owe fines
- If a book is lost or stolen, you must pay for the book
- A $0.05 late is fee accrued each day a library book is overdue
- If you fail to follow library or school rules, you will be asked to leave
